Grizzlies’ New Era

Submitted by Muskoka Grizzlies – Coach Mark

The Muskoka Grizzlies completed another successful year of introducing the game of hockey to young female players.

This year 27 players came out to learn how to skate, stick handle and shoot. The program focuses on smiles, being part of a team and community.

The Muskoka Grizzlies has been running for four years and the number of female players getting involved in the game of hockey grow each year. Players move on to SMMHA, Huntsville Sting and the Orillia Hawks.

Next year will be exciting. The Muskoka Women’s Hockey League (MWHL) is taking over the program. The Grizzlies approached the MWHL and they welcomed the opportunity to have more female hockey players coaching younger ones.

Megan and I thank the young girls who had the courage to put on the equipment and come out onto the ice to learn how to play the game. We also thank all the other coaches who gave their time to help these young stars.
